Easter Bonfires are lit at Seurasaari Festival Ground on Easter Saturday 4.4.  First, a smaller bonfire will be lit and then the bigger one. It´s free entry to the event and it is worth preparing for the prevailing weather. You can grill your own food at the barbecue area at Festival Ground and you can buy cold and hot drinks, snacks and cold sausages for grilling. Program changes are possible. Bonfires are not allowed during the wildfire warning period.

Near Festival Ground you can also get a horse carriage ride at 6 pm – 10 pm, fee 7 €/person.

Bus 24 takes you to Seurasaari and additional services are operated with the code 24S. Both lines depart from Kamppi terminal (pier 47). Additional traffic will run from 5 pm to 10 pm at approximately 10-15 minute intervals, with the last departure from Seurasaari departing at 10.12 pm. Tram no. 4 also runs close to Seurasaari. It is advisable to arrive by public transport, as there is very little parking space near Seurasaari.

In the Ostrobothnia region (north-western Finland) bonfires were lit, because people in the old days believed that fires and smoke would ward off evil spirits. The burning of Easter bonfires was accepted into the National Living Heritage List as one of the intangible cultural heritage sites that the Ministry of Education and Culture has designated since 2017.
